Water forms a drop because of hydrogen bonding – that is cohesiveness. So saline implants are cohesive. Silicone implants are cohesive. The issue with “cohesive” implants is that they are form stable.

They are made up of the same ingredients – no new chemicals – as the other silicone gel implants…it is just a matter of how much crosslinker is added to the mixture. The more crosslinker that is added, the firmer the consistency of the gel.
